Founded by Melanie in 2008, Starry Knight Design is a small, woman-owned business in Montana. Our team of local women handmakes soft sole leather baby and toddler shoes in small batches, cutting and sewing every pair by hand from 100% high-quality leather and suede.

Made to order, made to last
Every pair is made to order in small batches, so we only cut what we need. Leftover leather is reused for small items, our leather comes from reputable suppliers that meet high European standards, and your order ships in plastic-free product packaging inside recycled mailers. Genuine leather wears in, not out, so your pair can be passed down to siblings.

Love these! Very soft, substantial protective sole while still being flexible and giving freedom of foot motion. I did size up, so my daughter has a lot of extra toe room to start out, but I was happy to see that they still stay on the feet easily!

Our first pair of Starry Knight shoes is worn bare from many months of wear so we are onto our next pair! These are perfect to slip on for errands or running outside. My daughter is quite picky about clothes and shoes and she has always loved these. Adding the soles makes them hold up longer to a very active toddler's life. The oyster color is a great neutral. Highly recommend.
My 3 year old granddaughter loves these shoes. She had a similar pair as her first baby shoes and was so happy to get these in her bigger size. I had the rubber sole added. The wide toe box, zero drop and flexible sole all make them perfect for “barefoot “ style shoes.

Gorgeously crafted. My 21 month old daughter loves them. (I ordered the moc sandals, wool inserts, and treading.)
I have been searching for a summer shoe for my 1.5 yrs old daughter for a while. This is so far the most comfortable one that she can wear without putting socks on! It also has room for growing. Only thing is better not to wear them on rainy day or wet area. The whole shoes is made of leather, including the base, so it will absorb water and get wet quickly. I want to keep it longer so only wear them at indoor or outdoor with good weather.

These are the cutest!! My daughter asks to put them on every morning! They're so well made and roomy so my littles chubby feet will be able to wear these for a while! I love how soft and flexible they are! My daughter runs around in them and they stay on! Such a wonderful shoe!
