About Starry Knight Design
Founded by Melanie in 2008, Starry Knight Design is a small, woman-owned business in Montana. Our team of local women handmakes soft sole leather baby and toddler shoes in small batches, cutting and sewing every pair by hand from 100% high-quality leather and suede.

Made to order, made to last
Every pair is made to order in small batches, so we only cut what we need. Leftover leather is reused for small items, our leather comes from reputable suppliers that meet high European standards, and your order ships in plastic-free product packaging inside recycled mailers. Genuine leather wears in, not out, so your pair can be passed down to siblings.

Beautifully made and our baby loves these shoes. Easy to put on and cozy
These little shoes are so great for new walkers! They give their little feet protection, but also lots of flexibility and movement! I’ve gotten a couple pairs of these as hand me downs from my sister-in-law and I just love them! So now I decided to buy my own because he outgrew the hand me downs! Very happy with my purchase quality is excellent!
The only thing I would like to say is, I think that there should be clear pictures that label the colors in the picture. I will add a picture of the four color options and the drop-down menu. I assumed the colors went in the same order as they do in the picture beginning with “powder blue” which I assumed was the light blue. I wanted the darker green color and I assumed that was called “mint”. Apparently I was wrong because I got light green. Which totally is not the end of the world.
Love the craftsmanship of these leather slippers. Perfect for year round wear. My toddler keeps these on his feet, even though he hates shoes. Sized up to a size 7 for him to grow into.

High quality and colors are beautiful.. No regrets
These slippers are pure perfection! They give my son room to flex and splay his feet and toes. They are comfortable and warm. The wool inserts are ideal for chilly days and easy to remove for warmer ones. The colors choice are lovely and erase my fears of toxic leeching that occurs with knockoff brands. I love buying American and supporting small family businesses. I ordered a half size larger than my 5 year old's foot to give room for inserts and room to grow. Sizing is spot on. 5 stars all around. Get STARRY KNIGHT! You will only be stoked.

Phenomenal. I ordered 2 pairs 4 years ago for my 1st child. My second now wears the same ones and my third will wear them as well. I ordered more bc they are growing out of them. I will be giving these to my grandchildren. That's how good the quality is. Love them and I hope you keep going!

I received my fifth pair and although I have always been happy I have to say I was very unsatisfied.
The packaging damaged one of the two pairs I purchased.
The larger pair was folded, and has a crease through the center which Is visible and likely occurred during shipping by the shipper.
They were squeezed into a plastic packaged.
I would have gladly paid extra for a box.
On the larger pair I can’t really tell which shoe is left or which is right.
The inside of the moccasin on the part of the sole has the stitching pointed inward toward my daughter’s foot and will eventually leave a mark. 😕

Great first shoes! We tried a few different pairs but these were the only ones to actually stay on his feet! So cute, great quality. Definitely will be a repeat customer as he grows older!
Super sweet shoes!…definitely way darker then the pictures so if you’re looking for a certain shade ask the seller! I’m assuming it’s the nature of the shoe but it feels like we have two left feet. One tends to fall off easier. I added the wool inserts and love the idea that my little one will be extra toasty!!
