Founded by Melanie in 2008, Starry Knight Design is a small, woman-owned business in Montana. Our team of local women handmakes soft sole leather baby and toddler shoes in small batches, cutting and sewing every pair by hand from 100% high-quality leather and suede.

Made to order, made to last
Every pair is made to order in small batches, so we only cut what we need. Leftover leather is reused for small items, our leather comes from reputable suppliers that meet high European standards, and your order ships in plastic-free product packaging inside recycled mailers. Genuine leather wears in, not out, so your pair can be passed down to siblings.

Worth every penny, this is the second set we purchased. The first set we purchased when my oldest was a baby a few years ago and they would have lasted for two kids if I would have originally purchased the outdoor sole upgrade. Needless to say we purchased that this time.

This proud is great! We got these for our son who is walking. He usually is barefoot but if we go out to a store or inside somewhere we put these on! I have purchased several pairs in the past for my granddaughter. Now we have a great grandson coming soon, and I had to buy him a pair. Mom to be was thrilled.
This was my 2nd order from this shop. The seller accommodated my request for wider shoes and they came quickly. I messaged soon after losing one shoe, but haven't received a response. Now, I've messaged twice to see when I can purchase another pair of animal shoes with no response. At first, the seller was quick to respond so now I'm confused.
