Founded by Melanie in 2008, Starry Knight Design is a small, woman-owned business in Montana. Our team of local women handmakes soft sole leather baby and toddler shoes in small batches, cutting and sewing every pair by hand from 100% high-quality leather and suede.

Made to order, made to last
Every pair is made to order in small batches, so we only cut what we need. Leftover leather is reused for small items, our leather comes from reputable suppliers that meet high European standards, and your order ships in plastic-free product packaging inside recycled mailers. Genuine leather wears in, not out, so your pair can be passed down to siblings.

Great product! The only thing I want to mention is sizing. I measured grand daughter’s foot at 6” so I ordered 2 year old size 8 shoe. Shoe measured 6” from seam to seam so there was no “wiggle room.” Will return and order next size up. With felt insert I’m not sure they would have fit at all. Just a heads up when ordering. Awesome shoe though!

I LOVE these little shoes! I have already purchased 3 pair for my grand-daughter and one for a gift for a friend's new baby. They are made of very soft leather, easy to get on, have a suede bottom - which I love because it is a bit grippier for the little tots learning to crawl, move around and walk. As they get older, I think it best to add the optional soles to them as the suede is not ideal for outdoors, especially in wet conditions. But they would be perfect as is for the older tots as indoor shoes. I will continue to buy more as grand-baby #2 and #3 are on their way soon!

Poor customer service. I messaged requesting a return/exchange as my child won’t wear these shoes in the size I ordered, but I’ve only received automated responses over the last 3 weeks. There’s a 30 day return policy, which makes me think they’re running the clock so I won’t get a refund. Shame because they are quite sweet looking shoes

Cute great quality item. My grad daughter’s foot measured 6” standing. I ordered size for 6” foot. No wiggle room. Be sure to order 1-2 sizes bigger or you’ll be returning them. Other than sizing great product for sure. I only wish animal was upside down so child can enjoy the character right side up.

These adorable moccasins arrived today and are even more than what I had hoped for. They are very well made in the USA and the leather aroma as I opened the package was wonderful. They will be easy to slide in and out of, look so comfortable, and I'm certain will be a hit with our 5-year-old great nephew.
